I work as Design Lead at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).
There, I am responsible for setting up and maintaining a Design System based on the government house style.
The goal is for all applications and websites at RVO to have the same look and feel for the end user (the customer).

In recent years, I have also taken up music making again. I took piano and singing lessons until I reached a level that was acceptable to me, and now I am taking production lessons. Here I am learning everything about EQ, compression, and sound design.
Working on ‘rucken’ to get myself fit.
I finally own the domain name roo.se. My long-standing nerd dream has finally come true.
With that, I immediately gave this blog a new look. I’m also going to provide the blogs with handmade paintings and drawings in opposition to all the generated AI crap. See, for example, this post.
I have migrated this blog from Drupal to the static site generator Hugo with the help of Claude Code. I hope this makes it easier to publish new content, since it uses Markdown files.
I’m also trying to break free from AI provided by Big Tech so I’m experimenting with running AI on my local machine. This is challenging but my hopes are that models in the future will be more optimized so it will be easier to run them on my own machine.
